E-ACT Games Badminton Tournament
On the 11th March a team of students from years 7-10 went to Nechells Sports Centre in Birmingham to play in the badminton Tournament of the E-ACT games. The tournament was made up of 8 E-ACT academies making up the South of England. We played doubles matches against each of the other schools each lasting five minutes per game with the winning team in each game gaining 3 points and 1 for a draw.
All the pairings from West Walsall were great sports and were on top of their game. At the end of the tournament the points were added up and we found out we had finished in 1st place with 133 points (14 clear points ahead of 2nd). Our top performers were our year 7 girls, year 8 boys and year 10 boys who were all unbeaten. By winning the tournament we have qualified for the National final of the E-ACT games in Sheffield next month.
