Post-16 students took part in a ‘Bake Off’ for Comic Relief on Monday (11.03.13). The event involved teams of teachers and students who pitted themselves against each other in baking specially themed Red Nose Day fairy cakes.

The contestants competed to please our student/teacher judging panel consisting of Russell, Qasam and Mrs Kelsall. Mr Marshall and Dorian came out top in first place, Mrs Fox’s and Deputy Head Girl Carrie’s cakes put them in second place while Mrs Kudhail with Sakina scored third place.

The event was deemed a great success by all, with thanks to all the teachers who took part, Mr Hubble, Mr Smith, Mr Marshall, Mrs Juss, Mrs Fox, Mrs Boyce, Mr Cartwright. In addition, a special thanks go to both Mrs Millet (for her behind the scenes preparations) and Food Technology teacher Mrs Fraser for her brilliant red nose sugar paper designs – her time and patience with staff who wouldn’t listen to her instructions knows no bounds!

The efforts of our students and staff have meant even more money raised for our overall Comic Relief fundraising total.

“This is the most stressful thing ever!” – Mrs Kudhail while trying to finishing baking in the time limit

“It’s been a great way to raise money” – Danielle, Year 12

“I enjoyed every moment!” – Sakina, Year 12

“Danielle did everything!” – Mr Hubble highlighting his partner’s efforts

“Every single one of the contestants did a brilliant job, which made it difficult to choose a winner!” – Judge, Russell
