Walsall FA U13 Silver Cup Champions!

More Cup Joy for West Walsall E-ACT Academy

Four goal salvo downs reigning champions as WWEA turn the tables on Pool Hayes!

Match report

The year 8 boys of West Walsall E-ACT Academy went into Tuesday’s final as big underdogs. They were facing the reigning champions and hot favourites Pool Hayes.

From the kick off West Walsall were under pressure as Pool Hayes applied their trademark passing style and took the lead in the first ten minutes. But WWEA did not panic and following a sweeping breakaway move they equalised through Soms Sibanda converting a Scott Maiden through ball.

West Walsall didn’t rest on their laurels they seized the initiative and immediately doubled their advantage and ended the half on the front foot.

Following the restart West Walsall took control scoring quick fire goals to effectively kill off the game. Pool Hayes were far from finished and with 10 minutes remaining they found their spirit and pulled two goals back. With the score at 4-3 WWEA dug deep and just about held on to become the Walsall under 13’s Silver cup champions 2013!
