On Thursday the 20th June, the Academy held a Post-16 BBQ at the Innovation centre to enjoy some great food, fab music and especially to say farewell to our Year 13 students. Despite the forecast for rain, the students continued to have a good time, as the sun shone bright and we all enjoyed the amazing ice cream to slurp on.
The food was amazing, catering for everybody’s needs, from burgers to hot dogs, and ice cream to ice cold drinks. The students battled it out on the dance floor, showing off their moves to Stewart Hartshorne’s amazing DJ playlist.
Thank you to Sarah Hobster, our Post-16 Events organiser and all staff involved; they did a brilliant job in organising this BBQ and particularly Neil Prichard, our in-house photographer, for taking such wonderful photos.
We cannot wait for next year!
‘I enjoyed attennding the post-16 BBQ as it was something different and a great way to socialise with my fellow students. The weather wasn’t the best but that didn’t stop us from having FUN! :)’ – Harmanjit Bassi
‘The BBQ was a nice event to attend, although the weather wasn’t very good at the start, but the sun came through, the food was good and it was a good opportunity to socialise with the outgoing year 13’s and current year 12’s’ – Jack Fieldhouse
