 What will I study?How will I be assessed?
Year 7For the first term you will study

  • Number and Algebra

  • Fractions, decimals and percentages

  • Angles

  • Probability

You will be assessed on the topics you have been covering every two weeks through a yellow sheet assessment. Included in this will be at least one question based on a topic you have previously studied to check your knowledge.
In addition to this you will also sit an assessment prior to each data collect which will focus around the whole half terms work.
Year 8For the first term you will study

  • Equations and formula

  • Shape

  • Fractions, decimals, percentages and ratio

  • Statistics

You will be assessed on the topics you have been covering every two weeks through a yellow sheet assessment. Included in this will be at least one question based on a topic you have previously studied to check your knowledge.
In addition to this you will also sit an assessment prior to each data collect which will focus around the whole half terms work.
Year 9For the first term you will study

  • Number

  • Shape

  • Mental Methods

  • Indices

  • Standard form

You will be assessed on the topics you have been covering every two weeks through a yellow sheet assessment. Included in this will be at least one question based on a topic you have previously studied to check your knowledge.
In addition to this you will also sit an assessment prior to each data collect which will focus around the whole half terms work.
Year 10For the first term you will study

  • Angles

  • Number and rounding

  • Algebra

  • Fractions

  • Coordinates and Graphs

  • Representing data

  • Sequences

  • Percentages

Within Lessons
You will be assessed on the topics you have been covering every two weeks through a yellow sheet assessment. Included in this will be at least one question based on a topic you have previously studied to check your knowledge.
In addition to this you will also sit an assessment prior to each data collect which will focus around the whole half terms work.
Mock exam
You will sit three papers at the end of year 10 which will be similar to the actual GCSE you have at the end of year 11 (see below)
Year 11For the first term you will study

  • Pythagoras and Trigonometry

  • Trial and Improvement

  • Volume

  • Compound Measures

  • Angles

  • Transformations

  • Graphs

  • Algebra

Within lessons
You will be assessed on the topics you have been covering every two weeks through a yellow sheet assessment. Included in this will be at least one question based on a topic you have previously studied to check your knowledge.
In addition to this you will also sit an assessment prior to each data collect which will focus around the whole half terms work.

Externally
You will sit three exam papers each lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes
Paper one will be non-calculator
Paper two and three will be calculator
Each paper is out of 80 marks. You will either sit Higher or Foundation
Year 13For the first term you will study

Core 3 and look on to begin Mechanics 1.
Included in this will be;

  • Transformations and Functions

  • Differentiation

  • Trigonometry

  • The Modulus Function

  • Volumes of Revolution

  • Solving equations

Within lessons
You will be assessed on the topics you have been covering every two weeks through a yellow assessment using exam questions based on your current topic.
In addition to this you will also sit an assessment prior to each data collect which will focus around the whole half terms work.

Mock exam
You will sit mock exams prior to data entry at the end of the unit based on the Core 3 module, similarly with Mechanics 1 and Core 4 during the year.
